How to apply
You will need to upload the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Transcripts (or unofficial copy) from all college or universities attended.
- Two-page narrative statement.
The NIH Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) is designed for graduating undergraduates with an interest in pursuing future study toward a Ph.D. degree in the biological sciences but need another year of research experience and scientific development. In your statement of purpose, discuss the following: an introduction to your background and interests, how your participation in the PREP program will assist in meeting your future professional goals, previous research experience(s) with a focus on the rationale for the research and the question you were asking, and the participating faculty whose research interests you.
- Two letters of recommendation. Recommenders should highlight the applicant’s potential for contributing to biomedical related sciences, the applicant’s academic/personal potential, and statements about how the applicant will benefit from participating in the NIH-PREP program.
Applications are open in January 2025.

Applications will be reviewed in early April but we will keep the application link active until we fill all five positions. The program runs June -May. We will start letting people know by mid-April.
